Georgian House Oxfordshire

open plan LIVING SPACE

When our clients bought the house it had been extended many times by previous owners which had resulted in an awkward internal layout. We worked with them on the new room layout of the property returning symmetry to the original rooms and balancing the older original side of the house with the addition of a contemporary glass extension.

With a brief to create a 'contemporary country' feel for the interior we selected colours and finishes for walls and floors to create a cohesive interior sympathetic to the period details of the older part of the property whilst enhancing the feeling of light and space within the new extension and basement.

RELAXED SEATING AREA

Converting at Grade II listed building was always going to be a fine balance between sympathetic restoration and creating a warm and comfortable environment that was conducive to a busy, modern family lifestyle. Louise was instrumental in creating this balance, keeping focussed on the traditional and contemporary living spaces visually working together as a whole and never losing sight of the finished product. The end result is a beautiful home that facilitates our lifestyle perfectly and never ceases to inspire whichever part of the house you are in and for that we are extremely grateful.”
