Notting Hill Family House
formAL RECEPTION ROOM
When our clients bought this Notting Hill town house they were looking for a family home for their young family. The house had previously been refurbished but the layout wasn’t working well for their needs and the interior was feeling dated.
With a brief to create an elegant home with a minimalist style we designed a concept for the house. We saw the house as quiet and timeless with emphasis on natural materials, sensual, textural layers, organic shapes and comfort, with a muted palette
mid century style
GRAPHIC LINES
For the principle rooms on the upper ground and first floor we raised the door heights, added simple wall panelling, new chevron wood floors and elegant marble fireplaces. This provided a timeless backdrop for the more contemporary furniture, lighting and fabrics we selected for the spaces.
study area
Thomas Croft Architects cleverly reconfigured the internal layout, moving the staircase to the lower ground floor to bring light into the hallway and extending the space to allow for a larger kitchen, dining and family room.
kitchen AND FAMILY ROOM
Te lower ground floor had a more relaxed and contemporary feel opening onto the garden with light oak floors, a contemporary kitchen and clean architectural lines.
